well they said it couldnt be done with an e30/m30 mix, but I just need to find an m30b35 aircon and bracket to fit. It can be done, Anything is possible...A/C with a blower.. that might be different!

Im in the middle of this at the mo, just fitted the matrix, ive got a new condenser coming this week then its E36 pump on and find someone to make me some custom pipework. M50 btw

Ian332isport has done this with his S50 E30, im not sure how he got his pipes modified though.

i think he managed to cobble something up himself (to his exceptionally high standards of course)
seen pics of them but cant remember exactly what he did.

if you get e30 pipes and the two m52 pipes to go with the pump it is possible to have the new ends recrimped onto the e30 pipes.a pal of mine is an aircon engineer and has done this for me before.its worth noting that the rubber hose on e30 pipes cannot contain the new gas so you might want to get them changed for the newer stuff to avoid having to have the system recharged every year.

yup im afraid so.the newer pipe has an extra barrier layer to contain the gas.im sure its only a very slow release over time and not something that will need a recharge every couple of months.

was wishing i had new seals to hand when i fitted my heater box cause doing the ones in the expansion valve was a little trying.

how is the m52 anyhow, im interested in converting mine when ive had it on the road a while.next winter me hopes.

dont think you can get pipes with the newer rubber but i havnt looked into it yet.

what i meant was that if you get the new ends crimped on it may be worth your while having the newer hose fitted at the same time.when i do the engine conversion ill be having the pipes sorted but im just going to see how long it lasts in the meantime.its a good idea to have the system serviced yearly anyway so if it lasts from spring to spring then i wont be upset.

ok... hows about air con and ABS at the same time? If so, does the ABS stuff work? Do you use E30 hardware?

really? i had assumed it would be really hard. does it matter if the e30 started life without ABS?

Not at all, only the later car looms had the ABS loom as a part of it, the early type have a seperate ABS loom which is completely removable
