Has anyone smoked there pre facelift fogs?
Going to have a go at doing mine to match the headlights.
Was going to try and make some Xhairs to do it.
Anyone got a template?

Good work Tony, i was thinking about this but Ive opted for the no fogs at all approach, looks ok but need to get some black max power stylee mesh to fill the void :D

Yes but it just looks like spray?
Maybe look better with the inside of the glass sprayed?

i thought and tried this on faceelift fogs, but for the life of me i could not get the glass off, i was gonna go down to a scrappies and get spome broken ones to play with, but my idea for the smoke effect was not cross hairs but spray-painted aluminium mesh, the kind of fine mesh you get on windows to keep out flies/mosquitoes, i thought to spraypaint the mesh black and glued to the inside of the lens would make a great smoked effect but still allow the fogs to work (it would cut down a bit of light, but who really uses fogs in anger anyway?)

would like to know if anyone has gotten facelift glass off, and does the mesh work?

Had another go at making a template for the X hairs but not turned out very well(3rd attempt)
Had a mooch around the shed and found a piece of perferated steel.
Measured up and cut out a piece to sit neatly inside the glass.
Going to pick up a tin of Black tomorrow to see what it will look like, not very optimistic right now though
Failing that ill just pick a tin of `smoked` spray up and spray inside them, give up on the template idea.

Could you not make a slatted piece that fits in there, kinda like a '80's capri louvred rear screen, so that the light will still shine down onto the road but from a normal viewing position they look black?

Does anyone understand what I just said, I confused myself there! :o:

Right gave the above method a go!
Managed to find half a tin of Satin Black in my shed.
Gave the metal a couple of coats after a coat of primer.
Then hot glued them inside the lense.
Then using the same Black sealant that i used for my headlights(lasted 6 months so far with no leaking) i bonded the lenses back on.
Took the following pictures along the way, although not the best.
End result actually looks better than the picture shows but proof will be when i refit them to the car tomorrow, ill update the pics then.

Anyway let me know what you think.
If you think they look shite then say so :D
