Thanks again for that Mark.
Are we going to have an E30 Stand or just park wherever with the rest?
How many more Zoners are going?
Come on guys and girls, don't be shy...

Parking is usually on a first come first served basis, Although last year (?) Ron did get a lot of the E30's together down one side of the driveway. Expect 100+ cars on the day
The weather is guaranteed to be good

Just a word - the catering is TOTALLY crap ( and horrendously expensive ) - it's done by National Trust or English Nature whatever they call themselves now
Take your own - even down to flasks of tea/coffee

Hestercombe gardens is the place owned by the Fire brigade, and yes you need a map to find it!
Were you thinking of Athelhampton House in Dorchester? (BMWCC SW region used to hold there concours there)

OK lets get a few things straight about Hestercombe. First thanks for your interest hope to see plenty of you guys there. Yes its £8 to get in that includes 2 adults, car and entry to the Show and Shine, any other adults will be charged at the normal rate. Under 16s are free. I get a special rate for this show if we had to hire a place like this for the day it would be at least £500. As it is if 2 people turn up all I have to pay Hestercombe is for 2 if 100 turn up then I pay for 100.
How to get there; From Bristol or farther north or Wales take the M5 south leave at junction 24 then go through North Petherton on the A38. About 5 miles take a right off the dual carriage way A3259 to Monkton Heathfield you will then see the brown and white rose signs for Hestercombe. A few miles along the A3259 you will turn right continue to follow the rose signs.
From the south leave at junction 25 either follow the rose signs through Taunton or take the A38 towards Bridgwater then turn left on to the A3259 and follow as above.

Ron at the risk of being negative I will reiterate my earlier advice - guys make sure you pack a picnic - the catering (which I stress is totally out of the hands or influence of Ron and his committee ) is dreadful

The 10000 plus sthat turned up for the Yeovil Show!!!325iRon wrote:If we have 100 cars thats more than likely 2 per car thats 200 people +
What more do you want!!!!!!
The cider bus, the live band, the tractor pull, the paintball firing range!!
Nothing personal, just missing the fact the show is cancelled this year!!
Come on guys.
At the risk of sounding petty, Ron is doing a good job for us here.
Agreed, it's not the Yeovil Show, but it's still going to be a good meet up for us BMW enthusiasts isn't it?
And Blatant, you're doing your show in Newquay, would you like everyone to slag that off too?
Good call from ivqii regarding picnics, but play fair.
Not much point anyone organising shows if everyone just gives negative comments...

No Gordon - you're wrong here mate
If you dont know about the catering you're stuck - this place is miles from anywhere else selling food
And most peeps will travel a long way to this show
I am not necessarily being negative - just objective

Agreed Richard, as I said, good call regarding the food.
Just seems to be a lot of negative comment regarding crowd size, entertainment etc.
I hope a lot of peeps DO travel a long way from the show.
I'm just commenting on what I'm seeing mate.

They've refurbished the cafe area, and it was much better last year.
I've been to the last 4 Hestercombe shows now, and they keep getting better, with more and more turning up each year. Catering is fine, if a little expensive.

I have been to the last 2 years (although it doesnt take alot of commitment from me living round the corner lol) and they have both been very good imo.
Last year was defo bigger than the previous year, both years have had lovely weather and a very varied collection of cars, well all BM's but you get my point lol.
I would say it is quite a reserved affair with a bit more emphasis on OEM and concourse than lairy bodykits and subwoofers but all are there and welcome so it seems. If you are bringing your wife mum or nan they can look at the Prized gardens which is essentially Hestercombes attraction the rest of the year.
My favourite part last year was the organisers decided to put my filthy bug ridden 328i on display rather than parking it up as it actually worked out cheaper for my entry
