what is the differince between eta motor and the super eta.

Iirc the eta engine uses flat top pistons and a '200' type head with small ports and valves. The super eta uses 325i type pistons/head/valves.
I don't think we got the super eta here in the uk.

the ETA from 81-85 has 11.1 comp ration therefore the pistons are slightly (domed) and has very slight cuts for the valves to meet, from 85 onwards the comp ration is 10.1 and the pistons dish in (concaved) and used a standard 325 head as with the earlier ETA it has lesser cam journal bearings and ports (inlet/outlet) stupidly small!

For the Later ETA engine i would use an 885 casting (325) head, so i would change the camshaft to a highlift (peformance) i wouldnt use a a 320/323 head, ive tried it and i just got erraticle idling... if you have an 885 or going to get hold of one make sure you skim the head and use new head bolts...
use the 325 loom setup and your sorted, sweet as my pedegries!!

It is possible to modify the eta head to take a proper cam.The expert at this is temple30,you may find that it is cheaper to modify and recon your existing head rather than buying and crack testing aand reconditioning a 325 head.If you decide not to use the eta head,can I have first refusal,please?
