Been to pick up the track car today as I'm doing a deal with Scott with my rims for his 'pinas...

Anyway, took the cover off, connected the battery and *Vrooom* - Started straight away... and no nasty chain rattle either. Happy happy happy...

Cheers guys...

I love it in Sterling Silver - looks great with the de-chrome... Just got to colour co-ordinate the mirrors and front lip and then she'll be done as far as the cosmetics go. Waiting on a stainless exhaust system from E30Mark and that marks the final bit of modification (bar a decent set of tyres and a drivers seat...)

Eagerly anticipating the telephone call telling me the Sport's ready to pick up... missed driving it, though the convertible has been nice to cruise round in...

really really nice looking car that.

how low is it? i'm still not sure what i want to do about suspension for mine, but yours looks about right for my taste.

and i'm not sure i don't like the lip better in black, it matches the black lower sills!

Toby... I bought FK coilovers, but should have just bought a 60mm H&R kit... as I've ditched the adjustable rears in favour of a fixed height Spax pair @ 60mm... The front won't go any lower as it'll rub the tyres away on the inner wing at the top under heavy braking... Go for a fixed rate H&R setup mate.

BillGates - Yeah, got your PM. Have done one sig for you, and on with another as I wanted you to choose whcih one to use... A nice classy simple one, or one with more 'info' on it...

Toby... I guess she is 60 all round. The back DEFINITELY is 60, and the car sits level, so I think the front's at 60mm (ish) too... LOADS of thread left on the struts though... could go 120mm I reckon! Would look stupid and handle terribly though!

Will pull her out and take some better pics of how she sits for you...

You get sorted with the front struts...? Still got the ones from the iS sat in the garage - complete units with springs still fitted...

Yeah, I'll be there on Sunday. Will shove them in the boot and bring 'em with me then... :drive:

Think I've still got the rear springs too, so you might find those useful too... if not, no worries.

that would be fab, if you don't mind... then we can entertain everyone by having a huge shouting match about the price :teehee:

no only joking! rear springs would also be v useful.

adjustable base platform mate. they rock i swear! BTW, giles, i can make a C-Spanner to tighten the nuts on those platforms. Anything can be done in a CNC milling machine! I live them!!!

Toby... they're just sat in the garage dude doing nothing. If I can realise Ԛ£30, just to pay for the AFM that I'm taking off Scott, then I'd be more than happy... is that reasonable...?

Yeah, adjustable platforms... very agricultural to be honest. I'll describe them when I see you on Sunday...

cheers Giles, see you Sunday

Toby... here's some better shots of the car's ride height. Must admit the front does look a little lower than the rear on these...

You are swapping your rims for Scotts Alpinas.....for the track car?

Or are you giving the track wheels to scott, putting the BBS from the sport onto the track car, then having the alpinas on the sport?

318iS became MR2 Turbo became FTO GPX Mivec became Impreza became Rover 620Ti became Honda S2000 (current) became Fiesta 1.25 and 200SX Drift Slag (when the Honda has gone)

Initially, I'll put the track car BBS's on the Sport, drive down to London, and do the swap... which means I'll have the Alpinas on the Sport, and the Sport BBS's on the track car... for a while.

A few days with the Alpinas on the Sport will determine whether I keep them on the Sport, or put them on the Track car.

My friend has expressed an interest in the Alpinas as he has various Alpina mods to his convertible, so may do a deal with his nasty E36 M3 17" rims with brand new tyres on. So may eventually have the Sport's BBS's back on the Sport, and a (newly painted by me) full black set of M3 rims on the track car... (Black so you can't tell what they really are when they;re going round)

Think I'll keep the 'pinas on the Sport though...

17" alpina reps on the track slaaaag? that'll ruin the handling nicely, and cost a fortune in tyres!

Keep them on the sport!

why are you going to london when scott lives in wales?

So, the nasty E36 rims would look something like this on the track car...

Original Donor E30...

Then three choices of colour combos...

Track day slag in 'all black' is my favourite...

Meeting Scott at South Mimms as a) Wales is FOOKIN miles away b) He's in Kent with work and c) He's also meeting Zaust there as he lives not far from South Mimms...

That okay with you...? :poke:
