I recently sold a gearbox, prop, clutch and flywheel and hydraulics for £650. These are very hard to find and in big demand from people putting BMW V8s in kit cars etc. Rocking horse poo is a fair analogy.

winkeye Food for thought then!

Found a 530i V8 in a breakers today.
Car is actually pretty tidy, nice trim etc.
Made some enquiries about it and apparently the engine has a snapped timing chain?
Never heard of a chain snapping but hey ho.
Might just ring them in the morning and get a price of the box etc winkeye

Cheers Bigdek, I am indeed looking for one.

Thought I'd struck gold today, phoned a chap who exclusively breaks E34's and asked if he had any 5 or 6 speeders.

He had a 540i 6 speeder in and said I could have it for £400!

Then I phoned back later and he said that he'd checked it over and had found a crack in the casing.
"I guess you won't want that hen" he said.

He's got a lorry load of E34's coming on Monday so I'lll wait and see but if you fancy selling me a gearbox Eko, we could talk!

Offer him £50 seeing as its no good ( if its repairable )

That's very kind of you Eko (E30 zone spirit and all that!)

That wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't so far away! I have family in Somerset though so I could co-ordinate a trip to theirs! I assume this is local to you in Torbay?

See what they say if you wouldn't mind mate.

Nice one :thumb:
