To be honest it depends on your driving style.
i can get anything between 18mpg and 26mpg round town. and anything on a run but seem to average about 34/35 then.
I have a heavy right foot though.

27 Urban! good luck
They don't like traffic, if you're sitting about in town or on and off the throttle you'll be luck to get 20mpg. The 325i is always happiest on the open road, on long trips where the engine is up to temp and top gear is used alot expect mid to high 30's.

My M50 powered 325i does around 20mpg around town, but its main purpose in life right now is a 12 mile round town twice a week. Its the constant start/stops of city driving that kill the mpg

Absolutely.
Round town is a killer, keeping those 6 pistons going up and down
On a run, it's not TOO bad!

in town i get 40 to 45 from a Ԛ£10.00 so that works out to about 15 to the gallon on all my 325s, aint worked it out yet but if some of the brains on here can do it for me, i put in last week Ԛ£43.00 in the cab went to winchester and back then riding around town till it finished and got 320 miles to iti think it works out to about 25 mpg this is driving at - - - ish just cruising really.

Well when I had the SE I once managed to get about 33mpg out of it by limping along at 60mph on the inside lane for an hour, didnt dare brake or touch the throttle slightly!
Very tedious, and that was with std gearbox and 3.64 LSD
So not surprised at those figures Si

1989 325i sport, 20mpg around town or 25-27mpg on motorway or longer journeys. Although in general to achieve 25-27mpg I would have to keep the speed steady and not go above 65-70mph, which none of us would do being the legal speed limit
!!
Cheers
ps 1997 E36 328 touring 31mpg around town, 35-37mpg on longer journeys

A lot of my driving in my Motorsport was around town, and I used to get about 18-20 mpg. I used to fill up about 40 litres and get about 160-180 miles out of it.
But when I got out on a good run, where I was doing decent speeds, it used to do a lot better.
For the Rockingham trip, I filled up and managed to get 260 miles
After a lot of calculating, I felt that if I drove at 60-70, it was the best sort of way of getting good mpg.

I managed to get just over 300 miles from my 318 but I think I was on vapours at the end, lucky there was a hill to the petrol station I ended up coasting in just in caseBharat wrote:For the Rockingham trip, I filled up and managed to get 260 miles![]()
