I just went and ran a tape over it - it's 350 - 360mm dependent on which part you measure across.

Not sure you need to spend £150 - I've got a smaller tech 2 in excellent condition that I can't seem to sell for £50!

320 is huge, get a momo team in 280mm, you know it makes sense.

i put a go kart steering wheel on mine to see what it would be like. made it lots more responsive but almost felt like i had no power steering! looked a little too silly though so have swapped it for a 350mm suade rally style one. seems to do the job well

m-tech 2 wheel from an E30 is 370mm but you can also find them from an e34 which will also fit but is a bit larger.

If you can find a nice one then it does really suit the car and feels nice to dirve with, that other fella struggling to sell his.....buy that one! (no affiliation, honest) for £50 quid its a bargain!!

I agree...although most Tech 2's are advertised at smaller than 370..usually 350 or 320 or sumat like that!

I've got my eye on a few, so will decide soon which one i'm going for!

Don't want to string anyone along....when i'm interested, i'll PM them!

Sorry guys - the wheel I mentioned has now been sold. Just to add to the thread though, definately go for an e30 tec 2. The tec 1 wheel is nicer than standard, but the tec 2 is heaps better again.

i had a momo wheel on my old 325i(long since rusted) didnt like it as i couldn't see the top of my speedo. ie from 60 to 90 was just a guess. as long as you go over 90 its cool tho. it did feel nice tho. i like the tech 2 best.

I have the 360mm AC one, bottom right in this pic...I think it's on an extended boss compared to a BMW one, it certainly seems closer than in me mate's M-Tech'd car...I can't see between 50-70 and over 100 and something (never really look at the speedo at that speed anyway!) ish on the speedo either.

Image

Other than the speedo issue it's a nice wheel.

EDIT: The other cool thing is that the shape of the wheel spokes matches the shape of me ACS alloys :D

I've got the same problem with my 360mm 'wheel. It's ok if I have the seat as low as possible, but that's not comfortable on a long drive. I sorted it though..... I bought a Cyclops, so I don't need to be able to see the speedo at all!

Mine's lost the white finish on the AC symbol...I need to find something to paint it back on with!

My sparco is a 350mm iirc, it's a lot smaller than my tech 1 original but I think the e28 tech 1 wheel is bigger than e30 anyway.

I wanted a really small one (like Munky) but after talking to a rally driver and trying a couple sizes he had I decided on this one. The dish on it had a lot to do with the decision cause I was fitting the bucket as well.

i'm really not sure how you all have trouble seeing the speedo with a bus like 360/370mm wheel

my 320mm momo just skims the outer edge of the temp and fuel guages and the top of the revs and speedo. literally just chops off a tiny bit of the white line. i can still see all the numbers and the needles just fine
