Can't start, won't start! Grrrrr.

Hello members of the Forum, a problem has reared its ugly head on my usually ultra reliable 320i,'90' auto. It will not start for love nor money. I have renewed the DME relay and fuel relay and they seem to be fine, I have checked the fuel pump, it runs and delivers fuel to the injection rail. Car turns over, sounds as though it wants to go, but never catches on all six. Sparks at all plugs although not the brightest I have come across. Plenty of fuel vapour exiting the exhaust. Sounds as though it is fuel starved but as I said earlier in my post, there seems to be plenty of fuel reaching the squirty bits I have got to the bit where I am getting a headache, please any ideas?

i had a similar prob on my e36, try swapping or renewing the cam sensor, that what i did and it brought her back to life.

have you tried paracetamol?

No camshaft sensor on M20 engines dude although I can see where you're coming from.

I'd pull the Idle control valve out of the intake and crank her over, assuming its just flooded it should roar into life dude.

will race up to 2K and cut out prolly if you let it, best get a mate to slam the ICV back in ASAP

i've currently got a similar problem with 325i. My younger brother had your problem with his 735i turned out to be the temp sensors located on the thermostat housing .Going to replace mine there about Ԛ£12 each thats from Sytners main dealer

Thanks for the helpful and the not so helpful advice lol Going to try this out tomorrow and see what results I get.
