87' 325E - Modifications trouble

Hi guys, ive got a 87 model 325e coupe in burgundrot metallic II. im going to do an engine swap and modify the exterior but ive got one thing stuck in my mind. Im not sure if the rear lights are my taste. + im going to go from auto to manual. I see some nice 88-89 models with thick lights at the rears and they look quite nice, but im not sure which pair rear lights suit the e30 better. What do you guys think??? Should i keep the current model and start the mods or find another clean manual 88-89 325 coupe???
