Fitting 6x9's

Is there a guide floating about somewhere on the best way to fit 6x9's in the back of an E30?
I'm also going to re-wire the new front speaker that I fitted (in a rush) last weekend.

Dont bother going for 6x9's, wish i never had now.
PITA to fit and your better off spending money on decent front comps and runnign them off a suitable amp.
Just got some decent 13cm's for the rear, and a small sub if you want bass.
Thats my opinion anyway.

Rear speakers mess up the sound, and can be a pain to fit. They also attract thieving gits

I fitted 6x9's to mine. Had to build a custom mount for them (effectively raising the rear parcel shelf) as they wouldn't fit otherwise. I use them for bass reproduction at them moment, but as always would like to upgrade and put woofer/s in. I agree it would be better to get the front sounding great and use the back as fill in sound (and a dirty great woofer in the boot) Cheers!

hi adaM3, if you want to put some 6x9s in the back shelf it it quite a mission, you would have to cut through the metal shelf which is difficult and time consuming. Or another way of doing this is making a speaker pod for the 6x9s out MDF and bolting them on to the rear shelf then putting the speakers on top of the pod, if you want once you have done this you can cover the speakers(and the shelf) up with thin black speaker cloth, thats if your worried about attracting the wrong sort of people, hope this helps anyway...

Just type it in Google and you should get a few audio sites that sell them.
I got mine from a local shop.
