iv got all the bit from a trusted supplier, so i know they are all fine.

can anyone do the job of converting the current auto into manual for me while i do my exams so when the exams finish, i can finally enjoy the car a bit more! wont need it compleated till 31st of may, but if someone wants a job they can take their time with, then by all means take this on :)

if you want even more cash you can chuck on a new power steering rack as well (supplied garenteeed working)

i dont mind getting it towed to not too far away places lol but preferably i dont mind as far as guildford/camberly area, and as east as equivalent, so approx 40miles radius from croydon. :)

cheers :)

no its, a question !!

not saying you are incapable, but its a bit more complicated than an oil change on an e90 and a brake pad change on an e39 LoL

haha!

don't you need to change the engine loom? swapping gearboxes can't be fun, prop, pedals. Centre consol! I'd whip the engine+box out to do it and attend a few other jobs while i'm there. Sump gasket, new clutch the rear seal on the manual box, change the knuckle on the gearbox selector

its hardly a sale,,, im in south east london, though dont recal meeting you at any meets? kos knows stu, and stu knows kos, just took it as banter when i read it as i know both of them,, their not ruining my thread, i mean heck, neil (cliffybabe) is ruining it more with his post whoring lol

simon, new clutch already ordered, i will get as much as i can from that area as possible,

pedal box isnt thattt hard, props not too bad is it? interior will be pretty much stripped anyway, but understand were your coming from, i have the new interior bits, want to change as many parts as i can so i dont have to delve there again lol

all will be supplied with new bushes, linkages and what have you, short shifter will go on and whatever, though saying that, maybe the sump gasket might well be worth changing for the heck of it as the powersteering rack will be out as well :)

any more suggestions Si, i agree with you btw, i would love to get the engine out, though that would mean more time, labour, etc, for things that dont need changing... yet...

Centre console is the same and no need to change the loom.

E30 gearbox removal is positively fun for me since having had to drop the box(es) on the Range Rover a few weeks ago.......

just while we're here how long does this conversion take on a 325i? Assuming a competant mechanic and a well equiped workshop? is there anything else that gets changed that you might not initially think of (oil coolers etc)?

pedal box, prop, gearbox, flywheel, clutch, radiator, get rid of the automatic ECU and loom, or leave the loom and just get rid of the ECU. think thats it tbh.

probably the worst part of the job. there really fiddly and coz of the size and shape, they're bloody awkward

si, an E30 g'box is nothing, when you consider 6 months ago i put in an 850CSi 6speed manual box after a clutch and flywheel change. sat it on my chest, whilst me and tee f*cked around with all sorts of bolts!!

the loom doesnt have to be changed, you just have to by pass the part of the loom that wont let you start when you're in gear. centre console is the same too.

si, you said you'd change a load more stuff. thats fine for you, coz it'd be your car. as ali said, its time/labour/cost. this aint for free and it aint mine. when i do my engine swap, there probably a few things i'd do whislt im there, but if i do ali's, he's more than welcome to come round and play as he pleases doing little bits. i'd probably want to do it in one weekend anyway, otherwise the old girl will be moaning its sat on her drive!!

kos  i aint no service dummy

i know both the guys very well, ali aka dark_sounds who i have give lots of advise to in the past and i have spoken to stuart many times about his car, met them both face to face countless time which gives me the right to say what i want here

i'm not ruining any ones thred here , both will benefit if they truly understand whats involved
