hi all. a budy of mine has an e30 318is and its leaking fluid from the rack into the rubber boots. stearing is very lite. just wondering if the seals on the rack can be changed? has anyone got a part number????? cant find them on realoem.com . is it change rack or can seals be got? any help please
a seal kit is available from the US. i have come across it on a website. bmw do not carry anything for the power steering rack. sorry i dont have any part no.s but it does exist somewhere.
Hi
I got a power steering seal repair kit from BMW for my M3 exact same fault as you decribed. I think I payed £14 for it. However it didn't completely cure the problem so I took the seals along to a local engineering shop and they were able to sell me the next size down (for the rack) the sizes are imprinted into the seals. That was about 4 years ago, never had a problem since
