After loosing a little water for about week or two (and getting very worried about head problems) a nice split has opened up in one of my coolant hoses. I am guessing there has been a slight split or pinprick whole which i hadn't noticed and it has now developed. It is the pipe leading onto the top of the metal water pipe between the rad and block (sorry about the poor description). Just wondering if people think i should replace the whole lot of the hoses or just the split one? Also is it worth going for something like silicon hoses from Samco or anyone else?
Thanks
James

Definately replace the lot, I fitted all new hoses when fitting the 2.7.
It doesn't cost much for peace of mind.
I used standard hoses, some from German and swedish and the rest from the BMW dealer.
I dont really see the point of Samco hoses to be honest, they cost a fortune and make no difference to the performance of your engine.
These are the part numbers and approx prices for genuine hoses :
Pump to thermostat hose-11531287651 Ԛ£12
Thermostat to rad hose-11531722216 Ԛ£14
Bottom rad hose-11531718980 Ԛ£9
Thermostat to bottom rad hose-11531718982 Ԛ£8
Thermostat to heater and expansion tank hose-11531722743 Ԛ£26
Throttle body hose-13541719966 Ԛ£8
Block to throttle body hose-13541719967 Ԛ£8
Block to heater hose-64211380527 Ԛ£7
So thats about Ԛ£92 for all the hoses and around Ԛ£10 for all new hose clamps.
Cheers,
