Alpina sport pack

My car seems to have everything (including grille badge) to make it an alpina C2 2.7. visually, and mechanically. almost.

It has no engine number, and no stamping on the head.

It was specified new with LSD and Sport seats like a C2, and has all suspension, trim, gauges, ecu, headers and black top of an alpina.

Also has the standard style alpina plaque, with the usual speal, including "BMW/ ALPINA E30 0266" on the bottom, main line.

has no boot badging. its a 4 door 1986 car.

ANY clues, help, ideas????

You need to contact Sytners in Nottingham, if you give them the VIN they can give you details of it's original spec.

Sytners demand $160 for verification. I am NOT willing to pay that!

We are able to check the authenticity of ALPINA cars although I am only able to supply this information to the current owner of the vehicle.

In order to carry out a check I would require:

The request for authenticity from the current owner
A copy of the registration document with the current owners details (I would reply in writing to the address on the registration document)
Payment of 50 UK Pounds + VAT@17.5% = 58.75 UK Pounds.

Please be aware that:

a) Records as far back as the 1980's can be patchy/missing
b) I would only confirm what information (if any) we can find on the chassis number provided —a the letter would not confirm that your car is definitely an ALPINA car
c) The car may not feature the same components today as it had when it was originally converted"

As I recall, there was a post on the Alpina forum a few months ago by a guy who was gradually collecting information from Sytners about all Alpinas supplied by them (they apparently have little cards with all the info on).

Half-way through the job, he was suddenly denied access.

Now they are charging £60 a pop for that info. Surprise surprise.

Yeah it bites arse honestly. But when i think about it, theres a high chance that as far as they know, its a C2 2.7- and some later owner has changed/ replaced/ fixed the engine!
