hi there i recently bought a 318i on an E reg with 6mths mot for a cheap runabout, although when i looked it over i realised it was in pretty good nick for 20yr old (couple of small welds and a good service all thats needed) and have decided to keep it and mabye even mod it. So it was a complete kick in the b***s when i discovered water leaking in from my nearside interior light.
Any advice i have recieved reverts to sunroof leaks, but i have checked the gutters and they seem to drain fine plus when sunroof is opened there are no water run signs. I hope someone has encountered this prob (and fixed it) and can point me in the right direction as i dont want to go on a wild goose chase, i know they're a bugger to find.Yhe only bit that gets wet is my rear seat not front or back floor. Any help/advice would be much appreciated asi dont want to lose car for a leak.

Rusted hole in the rear right sunroof drain seems the most likely.

Can this be accessed/fixed by removing headliner and does the headliner refit without sagging?Brianmoooore wrote:Rusted hole in the rear right sunroof drain seems the most likely.

You can get to this and fix it by removing the headliner, and, as with all BMW trim, it can be refitted leaving no evidence that it's ever been removed.
I haven't said it's easy!

I hope for your sake its a 4 door or a 2 door with pop-out rear side windows or you will have fun removing the headlining!
