hmm.... I thought it was a 'man thing'... see something that might be hot but doesnt look hot, think 'no way is that 100 degress C, how can I test this'... put finger onto it.. recoil in pain and run fingers under tap for 10 minutes...

I've done it with a soldering iron too... oh and put my hand on a plug with no backing plate to 'see if 240v is really that bad'....

And no i dont straighten her hair. :P

 When I touched the plug (that sounds so wrong 8O ) I was thrown across the room. Felt like I'd had the sh*t kicked out of me for a couple of days afterwards. Not something I'll repeat.

Shouldn't lines 1, 2 and 5 rhyme, and lines 3 and 4 rhyme too?
You rhymed 3 with 5, and what does 4 rhyme with?

Off to cut myself now...

barryboys is a great site. very amusing and something to read when bored. there are thousands of websites for people to say haw great people think each others cars are, so why not have one where people can discuss cars they think look a bit shit?

if people didnt do stupid things to make their cars attract attention (some of which is bound to be bad) they wouldnt get posted. if you dont like thinking people might not like your 'individual' mods, and you can't handle a bit of criticism, don't do them.

i can't be arsed to read that thread because firstly the cardoes look a bit crap, and also because the thread is over 2 years old, the thread is 20+ pages, and the owner seems like a tosser.
cheers,

Nice one steve atleast the beast lives on was with the owner last thursday night that that car was a hero car think it was alpina spec from the factory. This was confirmed by BMW GB
the amount of tyres that car went through have some good pictures of it somewhere.

Precisely. As an active BB member I find that the cars we generally rip the piss out of have been 'modified' not to improve their performance, but simply to attract attention, which is risible; especially when Barry expects nothing but positive comments.

Kids who spend a fortune on bodykits, flip paint, humongous spoilers (invariably on FWD cars  ) yet don't know one end of a spark plug from another are not 'enthusiasts', they're attention whores. Evidenced by the sheer number of these crappy 1.0L Corsas which turn up on Ebay in a shocking state because Barry knows nowt about car maintainance.

A quick read of this thread (link) shows just how dumb some of them can be.

Also, there is a strange myth that BB is populated by idiots who know nothing about cars; my car know-how is reasonable, but I find that the regular members over there know considerably more than I.

It's not PC over there; but 99% of the time it is reasoned, well-informed, well written (txt-spk and deliberately bad grammar are not tolerated) and above all, HILARIOUS! IF it pricks the paper-thin veil of dignity which surrounds the 'cruise scene' then more power to it.

As for E30s; check this one out (link) and tell me it's not laughable.

Its very rare that I actually read through an entire topic on BB. I'm not a regular and they're always at about 20 pages by the time I get to see them. I'm now on page 25 of that one, mug of tea in hand... comedy genius.

Shit thats hilarious, I love BB, its soo funny. The people on there have some serious sarcasm and most of them know a thing or two about various cars.
