I have a 328i auto loom which has no EWS module plug, whats the crack with this?
I thought all M52 2.8's had EWS as standard?

Are we talking engine loom, or under dash loom ?

As far as I'm aware, all 328's had EWS, but the connections are on the under dash loom, not the engine loom. It's just a single wire that runs through the X20 connector for the EWS signal to the ECU.

Ahh, I must be confusing myself with the S50 loom

Dont suppose you know how to produce a similar signal for the ECU do you Ian :)

S50 is the same. No EWS wiring on the engine loom (apart from the wire mentioned before).

PM me an email address, and I'll send you a circuit diagram showing the minimum requirement to get the EWS up and running. I assume you have the matching ECU, EWS module and key ?

got mine working today wiring is fairly straightforward i was lucky in the fact we have an autologic diagnostic unit so i coluld see the ews had sent its release signal to the dme control unit but if you do not have this luxury the ews has a relay inside that will click when it has released

The S50 loom I modified had the EWS module plug on it Ian, I thought this was the case with all EWS looms? :?

Nope, never seen that on an S50 loom either. Assuming this was a 3.0L S50 loom, are you sure it wasn't the VNC controller plug. That looks very similar to an EWS plug.
