how much boost will the standard pistons and rods take (whats safe to run )

also any ideas what the c/r is in a standard engine

im sure that BMW designed them to handle the 100 odd bhp that the 318i outputs.

a 318i engine is cheap enough to get a hold of so find out !!

lowering the compression ratio might be harder though.

just stick a decomp plate if you have to lower the compression

m10 was a carby tooter
they both were injected, the carb version of the m10 was called the "316" but had a 1766cc displacment.
