He's not ripping you off. Starting this topic isnt going to make him any more inclined to fill out the form now is it?!
Just be reasonable and ask him to fill out the form, and when he gets the settlement, send you the cheque. Its not his fault, its royal mails.
Accusing him of ripping you off isnt going to help!

Well if he dont send my money back he is ripping me off. Its not royal mails fault or my fault if he cant tape up a box. He said hes not going to send payment

you said a form needed to be filled out. He said go for it. You said it needs to be him that fills it out... he hasnt replied yet.
How do you know he wont make the claim now he realises it needs to be him that does it?

Why should he send you the money before he has been reimbursed for the loss? He sent the part, royal mail lost it. Why should he put himself out of pocket because of an error they have made. If he is a reasonable person (which if it was me, and you were saying all this, I personally wouldnt be) then he will fill out the claim, and once he has the money returned to him from the royal mail, he will send you the cheque. You cant just demand it back now.
If the tape has 'come off' it is more likely to be some thieving scumbag in a mail depot somewhere thats to blame. Hence royal mail having a claim procedure.

Why? Because someone has offered you sensible advice on what to do in the situation?**** this place
Yeah f*cking hell, what a c*nt I am.
Sometimes sh*t happens. You'll have to wait a bit until he gets the money back, such is life. Shouting and ranting about it and throwing accusations around wont get you anywhere.

Where does postal insurance step in here. Surely the postal receipt will show post code and weight?

from what I can see you're still asking him to pay you the money back and then make the claim... that, imho is never going to happen. If you ask him to make the claim and then send you the money, its a lot more likely to happen!
Sorry, I'm not trying to be a c**t but you cant just demand money back when its no fault of his. Its a sh*t situation but you will just have to wait until he makes the claim. Unless he is a complete prick, he will make the claim and send you the money. All this isnt helping the situation though, if it was me I would be asking nicely and reasonably for him to make the claim, not ranting at him and accusing him of things.

It will be covered, and the claim will go through, He is right, the sender has to make the claim not the recipient. But it will be covered. (I used to work for the RM and know people that work in the department that does claims, I know what I'm talking about lol)blatantarrogance wrote:Where does postal insurance step in here. I feel for you mate I really do, its a sh*tty situation. I have kids, and a car thats ioff the road costing me a fortune... but life likes to kick you in the balls every now and then. Getting angry about it very rarely helps.ed325i wrote:I am not having ago at any body on this tread, I have got 3 kids and money is very tight and this dont help. Just ask him to make the claim then send you the money. You will have to wait a bit unfortunately but thats just the way it works. Thats the best advice i can give.

especially if you faxed a statement that the box came open and only had a bearing
you see now why
it would probably be better to chat to each other on the fone
its a dam site easier than trying to talk in text form
for both of you two
i hope you guys both sort this out and end up okay

well, I havent looked into it for a while... apparently s/delivery is up to 500!
If it was just sent first class then yeah he's not going to get the whole amount back.
Maybe the £150 is recorded delivery....
But yes... you have a point.. again, I really need to start reading posts before I reply to them!
