I need to adjust the tightness of my hand brake lever, I have read the other thread on doing this but it mentions shoes etc so is that on about a drum brake version??

how do i adjust the tightness at the rear disks, it is a 325i sport.

ideally it needs a new cable but just need a quick fix at the mo. the bolts on the lever are fully tightenned.

If the nuts on the cables at the handbrake are fully tightened, Then it sounds like someone has been messing about at some time without knowing how to adjust the handbrake. This may have caused the handbrake shoes to wear unevenly, and now you might not be able to adjust it properly.
The handbrake cables should only need adjusting when new cables have been fitted, and perhaps a couple of months later when things have settled.
It may be worth you removing the rear calipers and discs, checking the condition of the shoes, lubricating the adjuster a bit, and familiarising yourself with how it works.
Back off your handbrake cable nuts before you adjust the handbrake to be sure the cables aren't pulling at all, and adjust them afterwards for about four or five clicks of the lever.

Reminds of a Touring I bought eighteen months ago. Came with a large pile of garage invoices, including a recent one for Ԛ£60 for adjusting handbrake - four washers under each nut at the handbrake and the nuts just about fully tightened! Also both cable outers broken where thet enter the interior underneath.
