Ok Andyboy didn't get your joke cos I wasn't there last year, but it has its advantages having a welsh name but being english in Swansea! Gareth Evans from Bournemouth, no-one here believes it! which is good because they are all a zenophobic bunch of ****s wouldn't be surprised if most of the didn't know which way east was with a compas a map and an electric shock in their anal passage denoting an easterly direction! Wholst holding a state of the art GPS device!!!

let me state now, this is by no means ALL the welsh people I know! I have alot of welsh friends in the valleys where I live who are very knowledgable and friendly, but I have met 10 times as many people who arn't.

Damn doesn't pay to be english (or irish or shotish or french or german or spanish......
) here!
Have you seen 'Twin Towns' with Rhys Ifans? One of the finest films ever made andf he is a comic genius.

I've no problem with the folk from the Va-lleees at all. Could be a lot worse - could be Ginger. :D

:teehee: very funny.:tongue2:

Actually im seriously considering it, less than 2 week after I get back from Le Mans, will still be stickered up and wouldnt have to unpack tent etc from the car. I know its 300 miles from Orpington as I coasted into Perinporth (spelling?) on vapours in my 316 when I last visited.

And would be nice to kick your ass on the kart track for the above comment  I could bring my karting kit down but thats probably overkill. :o:

Im doing Pistonfest with Pistonheads in May so looks like I might be spending a lot of time under canvas this summer.

Sounds spot on to me.
May have to bring the missus too though, she loves Cornwall, and has family friends there, and family in Devon.
Will prob have to let you know nearer the time though.
Brilliant move Nathan. Let's show Yeovil how they SHOULD have done it.
Cheers

Not yet, gotta check with work, and see if I can get hols for then, or if I have to throw a sickie...

Better see if the missus is interested first too I guess.

Definately intend getting there if I can, but can't say for sure yet.

As an aside, is everyone camping or are people hiring static caravans or chalets?

Cheers

Camping was 5 quid a night (Probably a quid or so more now..), with Chalets, Static Caravans and plenty of camping space available. Showers, laundry, even a swimming pool available in the price! (It's all very basic, but it works ok!!)
Is this the campsite http://www.porthbeach.co.uk/index.htm or have you got a link to the campsite

I'll sort out campsite directions etc, once it's all confirmed. I'll make a tentative call to the owners next week to ear mark it. Difficult to really do anything concrete at this stage as I have no real ideas of numbers.

Porth Beach site sits literally over the road from the beach, IIRC wasn't particularly cheap.

Actually, didn't think they'd have a website, but they do!! Here's the link. Has price guides for statics and caravans.

It was your neck of the woods as well http://www.claypigeonkartclub.com/ that place seems to have its own weather system, just off the A37, I also bought my car from a garage on the A37.

Know clay pigeon mate, not raced there myslef, supposed to be ok. yeah very exposed there. Used to have a nghtclub there called 'Country Club'. A haven for those who liked to indulge in mind altering substances! It's a quick road to Dorchester that one!! The old Roman road, I believe.

I used to drop my mate out there, Puggy, 6ft 5 inch walking nightmare with fists like shovels, wacked out on horse tranquilisers, allegedly!!!!

Police used to ignore it, but the cars stolen and abandoned there by revellers got too much!

As Jon said, really good time, grreat roads, good beaches, Newquay is a great night out, chilled in the day, go karts too.

All prices on Chalets are on www.thpark.co.uk. TBH it's a no brainer really. £5 a night to camp. Showers are 50p, has a laundry room so the women can do the ironing lol. It's quite basic but all works!! Oh has and outdoor swimming pool.

There is something here for everyone, we can organise group jaunts around the b roads or go do your own thing. Eden project is not far away.

Even if the weather is crap, there still is plenty to do. Been there enough times in adverse weather. It may be in Porth but the busses run until 2 or 3am for about £1.20 single fare. I know of good palces to eat, fried brekkies etc. You cannot go wrong. Cornwall is absolutely stunning. This is a BMW meet but so much more. Personally it represents everything I like. Good cars, good location, good fun, good choices.
