After the shambolic debacle that was the (mis)organisation of what was a great weekend called the Yeovil Show, I am proud to announce the arrival of this summers hottest event.

Combining BMW's, sunshine (hopefully), the finest beaches, go karting, bbq's, vibrant nightlife, beautiful countryside, stunning "b" roads (B for BMW), surf, and a bl00dy good time, this is a cost effective weekend that will live long in the memory.

These are not the flippant words of a slick salesman, these claims are inbedded in nearly a decade of painstaking research to find the ultimate balance in a long weekend of entertainment.

Here is the bare bones. A hidden gem of a campsite exists in the picturesque beach village called Porth. Camping was 5 quid a night (Probably a quid or so more now..), with Chalets, Static Caravans and plenty of camping space available. Showers, laundry, even a swimming pool available in the price! (It's all very basic, but it works ok!!)

Buses run from the site into Newquay centre for the princely sum of about one english pound and a smattering of fine english pennies. They run until 3am in the morning for all the night owls too winkeye Newquays legendary nightlife is there to behold.

Some of the finest beaches are a very short journey away, not just the common and oversubscribed Fistral Beach. Heading away from Newquay is a great go kart track with twin engined carts too.

Could have a beach party with a bonfire or anything you fancy.

It is a great area, I tend to visit at either end of the peak period, to avoid the mass migration of the grockels.

It has something for everyone, familys and Pi$$ artists alike. The campsite is not one for charvers, they tend to visit the other big three. The smell of aromatic fragrances often eminate from the tents of the visiting surfers. Should give an idea of teh variety that visit.

My goal is for about 20 - 30 zoners to be up for this. I'm going to take the Friday off work and head down mid morning. Spend 2 nights there, heading back Sunday afternoon. It's a great atmosphere, no trouble and even if the weather s crap, plenty to do.

This really is a very affordable weekend and I'd like to welcome the zone to sample it. Any corss over to the e36 boys and the big 8's boys is more than welcome.

In the coming week, I'll call the campsite to tentatively look at any discounts or preferential treatments we can try to establish.

This will be awesome!! I hope I've set the tone!!

NAMES PLEASE!!!

As this builds momentum, I'll open an email addy to deal with queries etc, should the need arise!

There's also scope for a hack across Kernow, to Goonhilly, Landsend, Falmouth, Truro, Eden, St Michaels Mount, or anywhere I've forgotten. This does have potential to keep everyone happy!!

On a clear day the run from penzance to st just, followed by st just to lands end, then straight pack to penzance is one hell of a circuit.

Where abouts in the UK is Porth?? If it's not too much of a nightmare drive I might be tempted to make a trip over from the Emerald Isle. It'd be nice to see a few of the faces to match the chat.

I'd be coming into Holyhead so how far of a drive??

Cheers,

Stevo

It's by Newquay, not too far from Land's End. You'd have a fantastic drivbe from Holyhead down through Wales (meet up with some of the Boyos on the way?? :D ) and cross over to England by Cardiff/Newport, onto the M5 for a blast down to Exeter, then A30 all the way.
Hell of a trek but be glad to see you! Bring some mates, preferably females of the Corr variety. winkeye

Daz it'll be awesome.

I remember one time I went to Newquay, busy pub (Newquay arms) just randomly got talking to some mancs. Great atmosphere!!!

The go-karts rule too. Twin engine efforts. The roads to the location are good. Some good beaches away from Fistral if you want a quiet beach. Camping is about 5 or 6 quid a night...

You know you want to!! winkeye

I have a nice new 2 man* tent tent, cost me £30 last year. £0 sheets is plenty for a decent size tent - fuck those nasty 1 man jobbies, waste of time.

*meaning enough room for me, my mattress and me feet and farts.

It's a Yeovil '06 in joke due to the incredible number of Welsh folk at the BMW club stand. Pot Noodles and Dragon flags everywhere.

enough booze and I won't care where I kip, beach, bush, bed all the same to a drunk garf!

Ok Andyboy didn't get your joke cos I wasn't there last year, but it has its advantages having a welsh name but being english in Swansea! Gareth Evans from Bournemouth, no-one here believes it! which is good because they are all a zenophobic bunch of ****s wouldn't be surprised if most of the didn't know which way east was with a compas a map and an electric shock in their anal passage denoting an easterly direction! Wholst holding a state of the art GPS device!!!

let me state now, this is by no means ALL the welsh people I know! I have alot of welsh friends in the valleys where I live who are very knowledgable and friendly, but I have met 10 times as many people who arn't.

Damn doesn't pay to be english (or irish or shotish or french or german or spanish......
) here!

Andys joke was mocking the Welsh accent using existing cliches and popluar culture, through the medium of advertising. No reflection on you or your name, other than what you have already pointed out, it's a 'Welsh' sounding name!!!

What few Welsh people I have met have all been superb. Perhaps it's because they have escaped Wales?? God knows. Anyways, enough about the Welsh, we'll have the Cornish to deal with. It aint a whole different barrel of fish!!
