At Last the M3 is running as it should.
After swapping over many different parts (Thanks IAN332i) I gave in and took it to a local guy who has a very good reputation on performance & race engines.

He stuck it on the diagnosics and it showed up oxygen sensor. So got a new one and took it back to him yesterday. He fitted the new one but no improvement.

A quick look at realoem revealed the OBVIOUS problem.

When the exhaust manifolds were being modded they mixed up the Oxygen sensors. So the readings from O2 sensor 1 was feeding the ECU data which it was then supplying to bank 2 (cylinders 4,5 & 6) and vice versa.

I am one happy bunny! winkeye

yeah, got a bit of a scare on the way home though, floored it in third and heard a loud bang.....I stopped to investigate and it was the dechrome strip on the passenger side which had unpeeled itself at the front and was sticking (bent) 3 feet up above the car!

Well done that man!!

Having had SO many of those little niggly problems myself I can appreciate how you feel right now!

Last one was a ECU reset problem, ran fine till warmed up then just stopped, took me two days to find that HT lead on no 6 was arcing out against the exhaust gasket metal edge, sorted now but was pi$$ing me off bigtime!

The thing that was really getting to me was it ran fine without the turbo fitted then didn't when it was fitted, knowing that it wasn't the issue made it even worse, still happy now.

When I took my manifold off I remember thinking to myself: I must remember which way round they go.... Even remember making a little note of it in my head.

Of course, now I can't remember. LAME.

At least if it has the same symptoms as yours I'll have a clue where to look now!

Is there any way of telling which lead goes to which manifold?

Thinking about it, one of my lambda leads has a little yellow tag with '1' on it. Im guessing that could be for cyls 1,2 & 3?
Im fairly sure the other lead did have a '2' on it, but that tag fell off.

As James noted above, it's all down to the little yellow tags. No1 is for cylinders 1,2 & 3, and No2 is for cylinders 4,5 & 6.
