does anybody on here know how much a '73 2002 tii, virtually rustless, mint interior, 60k on the clock is worth? it has alot of original extras. Are they worth investing in???

Rustless, that is, properly restored, I reckon up to £4000 in todays market.

With some rust, but original, I reckon £2500, but rust has to be very very minimal.

Go beyond very minimal, and its low money, they just cost a fortune to restore!

Having owned '02s for 17 years, theres virtually none that dont have rust, and mostly is serios. In the late '60s, early '70s rust protection was considered to be a coat of underseal, which in the end held the water and salt in.

Lovely cars though, one of the best looking BMs for me.

Take your pick! I have seen fully restored Tii's offered for sale well into 5 figures. But like all classics they're only worth what someone is willing to pay for them.

For some reason the 2002 has never really been worth much whilst something as crap as a basic Mark 1 Escort is worth bundles. When you consider that a standard single carb 2002 is faster than a Mexico and the equal of an RS2000 as well as being a lot better engineered (i.e no Transit engine up front!) it's odd that the 2002 doesn't take off.

^^ Go on Andyboy. Big up the 2002 massive...... Innit.

Seriously, the 2002 is a really well made car for the era. Andy, am I right in saying that at the time of launch the 2002 was faster than the venerable Lotus Cortina? I'm sure I read Mike MacCartney's 2002 bible saying that was the case.

Also, disc brakes at that time were a considerable step for a car like the 2002. I owned loads of MK1's and MK2's 'back in the day'. I wish I'd had an '02 then.
