Had a supersprint exhaust on my E36 318is and loved the sound, nice and deep but not intrusively loud.

I've got a powerflow on at the moment - if I changed the backbox to the supersprint do you think I'd replicate the same sound? Can't remember if I had a middle box on the E36 or not, definitely don't on the E30.

I'm guessing it'll be kinda permanent too as I doubt powerflow have put flanges in the original positions.

Any thoughts guys?

They should be able to make it quieter, which in turn should create a different noise..in theory :?

The E36 manifolds were different plus the cat will make difference to the sound compared to your E30. Was it an M42 E36 up to 94/95ish or a late M44 1.9? All this will make a difference to the sound me thinks

Yeah, was the M42 but had a cat whereas the E30 doesn't. Cat rattled like a rattly thing anyway

Best to take it to an exhaust place and get it on the ramps to see if the E36 one will fit, but i would have my doubts but i honestly don't know

When i was looking for a new exhaust they looked at fitting a E36 one but said it wouldn't fit and they couldn't think of anything else so i just had a powerflow made instead. Told them to do it as quiet as possible and they did, sound pretty much the same as my standard one did.
