I have been trying to find some technical data for this car for a while but can't seem to find any anywhere on t'internet :(

Either I'm stupid or looking in the wrong places .... or both

Does anyone have some spec for this engine (bhp, 0-60 time, top speed, mpg - that kind of stuff)?

Any help much appreciated. Its an M20 engine 1985 323i Coupe.

Cheers guys. :D

I had a 323iA from new in 1985 for 16 years 'til the rust got it. Did 260,000 miles tho and looked and drove as good as new to the end. By then it was a 2.7 tho!
Performance BMW quote the following.
Bhp 139 ; 0-60, 8.1; Top speed 124 mph
6 pot with L Jetronic engine managment

I think BMW upped the bhp to 150 by your model tho. Pretty certain that's what mine was.

Cool thanks mate, I bought mine cheap and it was running like a dog, the exhaust manifold was blowing (some idiot snapped a bolt off in the head) and the timing was chronic. It was completely gutless, no acceleraion at all.

It does however have only 63K genuine miles from new, and apart from that its mint.

I get it back from the garage tomorrow having just had the manifold done and a full tune and service and was wondering what to expect. The mechanic (who's an indepedent BMW specialist) says its running sweet as a nut now and its a cracking little motor :D

Seems like I'm not going to be disappointed.

I'm coming to this from an E46 (2001) 320d SE saloon. So I imagine there's probably not a lot in it.

Thanks again for the info :D

At 63k miles it almost be run in!!.. I think you'll find your 320D would be a tad quicker as it has bags more torque but the 323 is no slouch as it's much lighter than the E46. Just keep a very close eye out for rust. The Series I wasn't galvanised like the later ones. Mine went in the rear inner arches (so get the boot carpet and lining out) and the jacking points and the inner sills. Couldn't see it from the outside. That picture was taken about three months before the shell was scrapped!
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I did mine.

My 323i is at the mechanic at the moment and the owners handbook is in the glovebox :( . It has the petrol consumption and stuff, so when I get the car back I'll post it here for you.

You should have 150bhp (110kW) @ 6000rpm if your car is a 1985, like minime1275 said.

Road tests here in Australia say about 16.2sec for the 1/4 mile.
