Oh dear, someone trying to tell people how to personalise their own cars. I wonder how much my car has reduced in its value since I have fitted new 18" Alpina reps with brand new tyres and kept a set of the original BBS aside.
I can understand when a car looks like it's been driven through Halfords window and evertyhing has stuck to it.
But a nice new set of wheels/clear indicators which are simple easily reversible personal mods.
Get a grip.
Pics of both, I prefer the 18" as they have the same radius but less tyre wall and thus appear to fill out the arches better. Granted they are also 8J.
However BBS still look the part but a little dated. If the E30 was manufactured now, would BMW fit larger alloys like the rest of its line up....???
Each to their own
Maybe you simply meant to say BBS, the same as 'orangecurry', without having a go at other peoples opinion/choice of wheel.

was going to be the name of my first born until you mentioned that, wasn't a ''Klaus'' one of the baddies in Die Hard ???
one of my favorite films; apart from the shiney suits, that film doesn't date.

Chief baddie (who people say I look like!) was Hans, but the psychopath was called Karl;

Me (sorry) Hans: 'Schiest dem fenster' (spelling?)
Karl: 'huh?'
Hans: 'Shoot the glass'

Karl thats right!! thought it was Kluaus,
and shiney suits are still in here, normally worn by Egyptian ''business men'' who combine the look with cheap patent leather shoes, i do like them!!

Hey thats cool 8) im not asking people to like Hartge wheels, we are all different, its what keeps this place the modifying scene in general interesting.

If we all had the same wheels and same mods it would be boring

These rims look like Brock B1 s, they were popular on E30,s in Germany. sometimes they can be picked up on German ebay for a song.

you get bbs split rims from mk2 vw gti's that are same 4 stud pattern for bmw....but higher offset of about 35...
come in 14'' and 15'' rims....mk2 G60 edition 1 came with them as standard....so worth checking vw scene for bbs deep dish splits....for ur 4 stud E30's.....

personal favorite wheel would be a set of MiM 1900's multi spoke deep dish ET25

I know the ideal offset for the E30 is 25, would the higher offset of 35 make the wheel sit out from the car more or make it sit further into the arch?

I like the 17inch E36 motorsport replicas on an E30.

Hi MarkP
No the higher the offset number the more "closer" the wheel will sit to the inside. That is why 20-25 offset is good for the e30. But saying that certain styles of wheels with a 30 - 35 offset will fit an e30. To check you will need to put the wheel onto the front hub to see if they will hit the brake Calipers. if the clear the brakes then you can fit them.
