Hi folks,

Going to do a quick oil change on my 316i Lux this evening. Slight problem is that its been lowered 60mm and is only running 14" wheels, so as you can imagine, its pretty close to the ground! 8O

Any good tips of how to jack the front up so I can let the black stuff out?!

Cheers!

Sounds like a plan, do you jack it up using the front wishbone arm, or is there a better place? :?

Can never get the jack in that far man I just use the jacking point at the front then pop the axel stands in just to be safe

use the bmw jack in the boot, then slide a trolly jack in on the front chassis rail, don't use the square shaped jacking points! they were for moving the car about in the factory when being built HTT

You could drive up onto a couple of bits of wood (or something) just on the front tyres to raise it enough to get a jack unerneath.

Use axle stands too!!

Use the BMW jack to lift it a bit then slide a trolley jack under the front cross member.

Don't know if this helps http://www.r3vlimited.com/Tech/Jackpoints.jpg

i do what dave recomended, fust drive onto a plank of wood, then jack the car using any jack. i havnt had any problems, even without the wood all you do is lift the car.

Didnt even need to jack it up!

The sump plug is so accessible that I managed to do it on flat ground!

The oil filter is another thing altogether! 8O

All done now tho! 8)
