But it has been known that moving an engine to far back can cause balance problems (IE too much oversteer)
point noted andrew,
but i dont think i'll notice any increase in oversteer, compared to what it was like before the re-positioning.
at the track day, it was spinning the wheels up in forth at 80mph,
without using the clutch, just purely off the throttle.
Yeah, a s38 in a touring has the same effect when the revs hit 5200

You are brave mate!

Andrew
after seeing it in the 320 shell and in the wet i know hes brave

I was thinking that. I think the conversation went something like "oh look, the track is getting wet, Im going out again." Very, very brave man

 this car's gonna look/be so awesome when it's done!

Every time I look through this thread I think "what if I sold the S50 and the rest of the GT6, mabey then I could afford a decent shell, set of wheels and build an uber engine"

Tain't gonna happen though, although I guess thinking about imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

couple of pics of the sport evo spoiler and gurney flap, with the 'warsteiner' sticker on it.
the stickers came with the word 'warsteiner' in a straight line,
but the spoiler, and also the bonnet aren't straight :(
so each time i had to cut each individual letter and put them on one letter at a time so as to follow the curvature of the spoiler / bonnet

lots
i haven't done a lot over the winter to be honest andy.
exhaust manifolds are next.
if i wasn't working, and worked on the car, all day, everyday, then i suppose i could maybe get it sorted / drivable within 2/3 weeks-ish.i'm not sure how that works out to be as 'a few evenings and weekends'.
i'd like to hope it's on the road for gaydon, but if it's not, then so be it

I didn't think of the work on the manifolds(RHD>LHD) :o:

It's a shame when work (and/or weather) stops you working on your car :(

well...........here goes...............
i still couldn't find enough inspiration to do this a second time around,
so i've done a deal with fab's,
i've sold them the s62 kit, and i've bought off them an e36 3.2 evo kit.
i'll be picking it up next week some time, as it's still in the car at the moment.

How come Glenn? Is the V8 just too much of a ball ache and the 3.2 an easier installation even though you've already done an S62 in an E30 shell?

Well that's a bit of shame because an M5 powered E30 just sounds so radical, but I can fully understand your reasoning.

Do you get a 6 speed manual with the new engine if it's still in the car?

Hi

There is a guy in Norway (s14.net) building an twin turbo s62 in an m3 shell, appears to have a big budget, modifed shell to run full on DTM spec suspension including reshaping the front shock towers to fit the big DTM spec centre lock alloys. Now that will be car to see

What a shame. :(
All credit to you for doing it the first time, wish I'd seen it, what a beast.
If it's just the 'already done it' bit, how about an E30 V10 M5 lump? :D
(Don't worry, only kidding - though if the V12 has already been done... )
Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring

i cant believe you've done that Glenn. :?
Yours was probably the only one in the uk with that engine in,and it sounded awesome.
Even though i've done the s50 swap i think its a bit common now.
