whineing noise

through the speakers it only started this afternoon but only when the engine is running and it gets worse when you rev the engine im running 3 amps 2 for the components 1 for the sub can anyone suggest anything they sound fine when the engine is off

that sounds like an earthing problem, have u checked your connections and that its touching the bare metal properly?

sometimes there is an adjustment for this on certain amps (probably a small twisty nob)sorry for the strange description!
but as gouki says probably a dodgy earth.

are the phono leads away from the power?
idealy they should be on the opposite side of the car from eachother as they can interfere with eachother espesially when the engine is on and revving. You will hear a whine nosie that responds to you revving the car.

thats another possibility, if the RCA's are side by side with each other that can also cause the interference.

thanks guys im begining to think its an earth problem as all the cables are seperate power down one side and rcas down the other

ive tried everything and still the same so im going to buy rca suppressors this afternoon hopefully that will cure it

It may be the quality of your RCA leads or earthing/grounding problem, check both the amps and headunit.

well ive tried everything apart from changeing the rcas so thats the next job

I think you are all barking up the wrong tree.

It's electrical interference from the engine, I'd say you've most likely got a faulty surpressor (the device that prevents this interference).
