Swapping Bumpers from Black to Chrome...Easy To Do?

hi,

i want to replace my black metal bumpers (1990 316i) for the older pre 1987 chrome bumpers.

are the fittings the same? can anyone tell me if its a simple swap?

any helps appreciated.

the front and rear lower valances are completely different, although i dont really see why the bumpers wont fit???

Facelift bumpers don't go on a pre-facelift.

Facelift have 2 torx bolts and 2 slidey things - pre-f have 4 bolts in different locations....

oops...sorry, my black plastic bumpers. i wanted to take off the plaggy ones and put on chome bumpers from an older e30.

can you not change the bumper mounts to make them fit?

ive seen cabs that people have gone the other way, from chrome to plastic.....
