hi mate when i was searching for insurance on my sport i found herts insurance company the cheapest. a good thing about their cover is that they do a third party cover and it entitles you to drive any other car 3rd party, which is unique to the company. they aint online but here is their number 08451 290 290. (they used to guarantee they will beet any quote) im not sure if this is still their moto, but when they ask you if you have been given a quote by somone else tell them you have been quoted Ԛ£xxx by tescos or whoever make sure the amount you say is a price which you think is reasonable an wouldnt mind paying and then they will try and match it, thats what i did and mu premium was weel cheap. i came up trumps.

i'm with hic (herts insurance consultants) 08451290290 been with them for 7 yrs now and they have always been spot on. they've got a stupid computerised phone service but will ring you back if u leave your number.
i pay Ԛ£180 a year for my hartge. all fully declared whats been done to it. 29 with 6 years no claims (protected) ended up chatting about e30's to the chap dealing with me last time for ages ending on he was gonna go out and buy one. in their ad they had a pic of an e reg white e30 with some one hanging under the bonnet. which was nice to see. give them a bell and see what they say. they've always been good to me.

if you have 4 years no claims, try www.esure.com

got a leaflet through the post promoting the fact that if you have 4 years NCB they are the cheapest around

Hi There

One of the most surprising places to try for insurance is.......BMW!!! :o

I insure my 1997 E36 328 touring with them for Ԛ£492 fully comp. That includes me and my wife to drive, I have an SP30 and my wife a DR10 :ban: yep!! from a couple of years ago!!

Just make sure you use their online quote system, cause the prices vary drastically by phone them...(eg Ԛ£790 phone call, Ԛ£492 internet with all the same details) :o

I have 9 years plus NCB unprotected.

I have my 1989 325i sport insured with (will post later, cant remember their name 8O ) and I pay again Ԛ£492 with no NCB :)

Both cars are off road parking and in the Glasgow area.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Yeah BMW are very good and quite cheap also! Plus they have free european cover, key care and if u do (unfortunately!) crash the car gets repaired at BMW with BMW parts..

Another one with HIC here.

23 with 4yrs NCB and renewal premium was around Ԛ£450 tpft on my 325i sport. As well as the drive other cars cover, they cover aftermarket alloys, lowered suspension, performance exhaust and air filter as standard, but you do have to tell them whats fitted.

This really is one of the mysteries of the universe!

19yrs old, 1 small claim, 1yr ncb, garaged (will have license for 2yrs in 8 weeks - the deciding factor!)

Adrian Flux, apparently amazing for young drivers, couldn't even quote me on a 325i let alone my 318iS!!!!

Current insurers Admiral offered me Ԛ£800 on the iS (renewal was due last week, cancelled it for obvious reasons..) but don't insure people on a group 15 car under the age of 21.

Privelege offer me Ԛ£1460, but if I wait 8 weeks it goes down to Ԛ£1250.

Churchill were roughly the same as Privelege!
Any suggestions guys? :(

Tesco. maybe not the absolute cheapest but very quick helpful phone service and all policy alterations are free of charge where it's often Ԛ£20 a pop with other companies.

which is useful if you own four bloody cars :teehee:

I've just been through the insurance minefield and was getting depressed at the thought of shelling out Ԛ£450 upwards for a 88 318i 2 door with no mods. I'm 32 with no NCB, but have held my licence for over 10 years (Been riding motorbikes). Then tried Quoteline Direct & managed to get TPFT for a very reasonable Ԛ£337

Re-newed my insurance in November. I was with Tesco's and there re-newal was shocking! I'm 29, maximum no claims, cars got cat 1, off street parking, all the b*ll*x! They wanted over Ԛ£550! Shopped around on the net. Found Sainsbury's of all insurance companies. Full comp, protected no claims, all the usual that goes with breakdown cover, replacement car etc. Ԛ£350! Couldn't fault 'em, done 10 mins and Ԛ£200 back in my wallett!

Definetly give 'em a try.

Chris.

Just renewed insurance too, but thought I would check out Sainsburys as I have 2 weeks to change my mind with Norwich Union. Sainsburys came out approx Ԛ£200 cheaper, however, the excesses were shocking!

Ԛ£500 Compulsory excess for Accidents and Theft, in addition to a voluntary excess of Ԛ£150, so totalling Ԛ£650! With Norwich Union I think my excess is only Ԛ£150. With my track record I have to watch the excess figures

So just a little advice to watch for the excess, cheapest premium may not suit everyone.

Regards,

Hitman
