placey had a few made, think you can get some ones made by audiosomething or rather who sell on ebay for 70£?
have you ever made proper door pods?? tbh the audioscape ones really arnt that bad value for money considering the work involved, and materials etc.. trust me worked it out the profit margin is really not that high considering the time involved

i made a job lot of door builds for 6 1/2s and sold them all to zoners for 35 a pair - eventually. they can be made to sound truly excellent - but to get the best results porting into the door cavity is perferable, and that involves a lot of sound deadening work and some waterproofing ideas. to give you an idea i reckon i spent at least 40 hours on my front doors alone - probably nearer 60 truth be told. sounds the dogs though!

i think that some, if not all, are in the guide in the articles section. but from memory the key stages were:
- not pressing too much cable thickness down the rubber boot into the door as it causes it to deform and not fold properly, it then presses against the door furflex seal and allows water ingress. (mount crossovers inside door or build rather than in the cabin, hence only one cable into the door required)
- template all the holes in the inner door skin (except the intended port hole of course) and then cut them out of a thick plastic sheeting material with a lip all round - then painstakingly silicone around each hole and seal them all up before soundproofing. this is a time consuming task.
- once the port hole at the rear of the baffle has been templated through the door card (with reference to the door skin so as to avoid any metal ribs muddying the sound or indeed blocking the port hole entirely) and cut, the build then requires a lip to be added to the top edge and side edges that protrudes into the door cavity. fibreglass is fine. then some plastic sheet can be added at the rear of the lip to encourage any water to drip down well behind the build rather than into it or onto the speaker magnet or cage.
it is surprising just how much water runs through a car door - even when all rubber seals are healthy.
