Taking the rev limiter off. does anyone no how????
Moderator: martauto
325 but switchable auto, in sport i put my foot down in 1st and it revd round to about 4 1/2 revs then the limiter cut in, little bit of popin then it changed up, was wondering if that was just because it was in 1st, or something else? do you no?

My autobox cut-out quite often kicks in before the rev limiter if I cane it in first/second especially if it's not thoroughly warmed up. But it goes into limp home mode (third gear). Have to turn off ignition and restart and all is fine. Have made tentative enquiries about remapping the autobox ecu but no one has picked up the gauntlet. Would love to get the sport mode gear changes at optimum torque/bhp to match the engine remap.

Yes, it certainly worked better. I used to go out on track days and would be working it at near max revs in 2nd and 3rd all the time without any problems (in Sport mode). The only problem was overheating of the geabox to the extent where I was just about to fit an extra cooler when ill-health forced me to retire. I've since had a new box and that works fine too.

Easy enough to change if you remove the big air hose, although you can't really see what you're doing, and has to adjusted to the correct position (slotted mounting holes).slippo wrote:how easy was the throttle sensor to change? was it costly?
TPS for a switchable auto is different from the TPS fitted to other E30s.
Your old one may respond to cleaning (they fill with oil that gets into the inlet system from the crankcase breather.
