Alright,
My sport looks great on the outside, but the engine bay just looks dirty! i want to try and get my engine bay looking as mint as possible without removing parts! Here are some pictures below.

Looking good from here....

Not bad at all i suppose for a 17 year old alpine white sport, but i would love to clean the engine bay up as much as possible. Not sure where to start though and what to use! What should i do jon?

thanks

The yellow is probably (hopefully) only ageing factory wax. Brown on the other hand............Rust.

Nothing wrong with a steam clean just leave your engine running

it usually is better to do it when the engine is hot (not running) and all the electrics covered with plastic bags,,,,

a couple of tins of Gunk and a slection of paint brushes to work it into the more ingrained areas will do the trick, use a hose to rinse it off and you wont have any problems with water ingress into the electrics.

been doing my cars this way for years and never had any probs, comes up a treat as well...you can then(if you want ) polish the painted areas or dress the plastic/rubber components...I use WD40 to do this , its quick, cheap , good for protecting the electrics and gives a good enough finish for the engine bay
