Well, today I decided to do something about my slightly grubby interior!
It was a lot of hard work and I now have dreadfully dry hands and rash up my arms from all the Bold 2 in 1!

Started by complelty stripping the interior out so I could access all those nooks and crannies that normally get missed when cleaning it.

The main filth was towards the boot area, which takes a lot of abuse.

Every panel, mat, seat mechanisms, the works, took a trip into the bath for a scrub (except the actual seats as they're ok.

The filth that came out is evident in the pictures!

I had wanted to take the carpet out aswell but there wasn't time unfortunatly

Everything was then taken outside and blasted with the hose to remove the now loosened dirt.

I now have E30 parts drying in the sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and the bedrooms!

Hopefully later tomorrow everything can go back in,i'll then take some snaps of the revitalised interior in all it's glory :D

Interesting - i have some carpet from mine to be cleaned and i was wondering what's the best way to do it. Hadn't thought of just using washing powder though - it obviously worked well looking at the colour of the bath water! Might give that a go tomorrow.

Pete, washing powder works a treat, doesn't bleach or stain, isn't aggressive but does a bloody good job of shifting the grime, although a rinse down is a must,on top of that the car should smell of "Ocean Calm" tomorrow!

Will6,true would have been easier to just hose them down outside but everything needed a good soak and scrub in hot water to really to the job well.As for blocking the drain, you know I've got long hair, the missus has long hair and one of my sons has long hair, the result is a constantly blocking trap in the bath,so I get pretty used to the unpleasant task of emptying it when the bath starts taking an hour to drain away! Just means i'll have to do it sooner with all the silt that went down the plug hole earlier.
Incidently that was two bath loads of muck as well!

Billy Boy,I knew you would remember! Picture of my gleaming interior will be posted tomorrow for your inspection!
As for the coffee cups, there were three out of shot you couldn't see that were from today, plus another in the garden, and another by the computer! The two cups in the car were from driving to work Thursday and Friday! Dab hand at drinking and driving!

Swirly,I do,believe it or not,"try" to keep it clean, but seem to be losing all the time so ends up a right bloody mess, the overflowing ashtray is the worst,it stinks!I also have a bad habit of chucking crap in it and saying to myself,it'll be OK,i'll clean it when I get home, and then never get around to it!
As for dead bodies,Richy has the contract for Cadaver Courier, although I did find the corpses of about six wasps in the front of my dash!

PS Pete, where some rubber gloves if your going to use washing powder,I didn't and have the resluting sore arm rashes to prove it,it's not very pleasant!

Thanks for the tip - tried it yesterday on the boot carpet i bought from Bharat - came up a treat! I must have either used a milder washing powder, or i'm immune to the rash - didn't affect me at all.

Very impressed with the "after" pics of your car - looks spotless!
