I'm having troubles finding a centre section to go with my m3 scorpion backbox, so was thinking of going down the route of a custom jobby with straight pipes. My question is..... will the omission of the X pipe which is on the m3 system normally mean that I will suffer a loss of power/torque?

Thanks,

Theo

if it helps, my scorpion m3 centre section doesn't have it. that said, from what i've seen, scorpion exhausts aren't rated my m3 owners! :?

I have also heard that scorpion stuff isn't rated by the s14 crowd, which suits me as I want a centre section!

If i did go for a custom centre section then I would have options for the downpipe to centre section flage, as it wouldn't be vital to use the m3 style flange?

Theo.

Just get the 325 downpipes welded onto your m30 downpipes.

You will probably lose about 1hp.

hmmmm

I've got a set already, which I suppose I could use and just pop the m3 system on once i've got it all sorted, but I would be interested to know what the effect of the cross pipe is. I've heard conflicting opinions.

Speak to salman.

He knows about all that x pipe rubbish...he would then make you think that you need some £950 stainless system, and nothing else. And that you should buy it off him as he doing a special one off deal....and he only has one left....

Theo.

Why wouldnt you want to by an exhaust off sal? The are blessed by monks, and give an extra 9 camel toes at the spare wheel.

I do have a scorpion middle section.

Bit i think it needs slight repair.

I would love to furnish Sal with large sums of cash, but I'm hopelessly tight, and want some 2nd hand scrap instead.

Where is this centre section of yours damaged?

X pipe just means the exhaust pulses scavenge the gasses better. They use this on V8's to balance out the power between banks. On a 6/4, i'm guessing they do the same. But to what extent.... <shrug>

Not sure theo. i will have a look for you.

You sure you dont want to buy one off salman?

Only £1259.... one off deal. You will then be his best friend. He will then tell you that your e30 is shit if you dont buy a H&R suspension kit from him.

p.m replyed to theo.

I still think you should buy a full system off salman the soulman.

Only £1899.87 special bargain end of the month deal.*

*Then 2 months down the line he says that your exhaust is shite, and out of date. So...you need to buy his brand new on the market zorst, "this one is only £2200.56 to you bruv"
