Hello, back again asking thick questions (sorry!)
I just got my new Mims, unfortunately the fronts don't quite clear the calipers so I've bought some universal 5mm slip on spacers to help, and I have two questions:
Is there a simple way of getting them on? I've had an absolute nightmare so far. Thought about maybe taping them to the wheel then slipping them on but haven't tried that yet, or maybe getting some sort of spigot so the centre lines up on the hub?
And am I going to need longer wheel bolts, or should 5mm be OK with the standard bolts?
Cheers

I had to use 20mm spacers to clear my calipers with my mims. Got them from here they come with the longer bolts >> http://www.performancefx.net/wsbmw.htm
What Mims have you got? I got some that are marked 2900s, they seem to have one more spoke than the 1900s and have curved spokes rather than straight ones? Anyway, it looks like they aren't hitting the caliper by much so I think the 5mm will do...guess I'll just have to figure out a way to get them on, and see whether or not they work.
Right then - got the spacers on and got the car out of the garage today and within 5 yards it was rubbing off the calipers making a god awful noise, despite it the wheels turning fine with the 5mm spacers.
Can anyone reccomend what size I should go for? I'm not farting about anymore, going to buy proper hubcentric ones with longer bolts, but will 15mm spacers push the wheel too far into the arches considering the offset of the wheels is 25 (wheels are 15x7s)?

Any help appreciated, I don't want to make another useless purchase, and I'm still a bit new to this!
Cheers

They look very similar to my RH classics, I'm using 10mm spacers with mine.

The only problem with 10mm spacers is that the wheel doesn't sit on the hub spigot, I've bored out the centre of my aloys and machined a set of spigot extentions.

They look like Aluline rims to me

They're stamped "Mim 2900" and "Made in Italy" - obviously thats no guarantee of them being genuine, but I've no reason to believe otherwise.
Having said that, I've never seen another set and can't find any info on them...

Right, the saga continues - got some delightful new hubcentric 15mm spacers from ebay, got them on, wheels cleared the caliper by miles and rotated fine, so took it out for a test drive, got 1/2 a mile with no probs but then there was disgusting metal on metal grinding noise so stopped, ran back to the house and got the BBSs to put back on.
Got the car back to the house and inspected it, turns out the track rod end (I think thats what it is) was poking into the alloy, and has carved a nice groove into one of them!
Was reading somewhere that somebody had rounded a few mm off the track rod ends to fit some ATS cups on, is it safe to do this? Its either that, or sell them on and buy something else, and at the moment I'm very tempted by the latter
