Is that the white 2 door i sold to Topi and bought off Gareth? Can't remeber the reg but it looks like it.
it's the zone bike!!!! :D i bought it, nearly put a M30 in, sold it to a mate who nearly put a M30 in, bought it back off my mate and nearly put a M30 in, sold it to spadge who nearly put a M30 in........... finally it will get one!!!! :D :D :D :D

one thought about the (sweeeet) wheels, offer them up to the car and see how the white matches as the car is quite creamy coloured next to a very white wheel and this can look nasty. a quick and cheap blowover in alpine white 2 (iirc) will make them match and fit in better. should be pretty cheap too as there is no prep required and a bodyshop could fill a spare hour doing that in between other jobs...

Those wheels are sweet! I would spray them in a dark gunmetal grey colour though.

Best of luck with it all Pete.

Lol yes if i hadn't already started to do the touring that would have got an M30 from me :D
Got to agree about the wheels as well as white wheels on an off white car look pants mate!
Best thing to do is to sell them to me and be done with it lol :P

Yeah, know what your saying about the white on white thing, but the car will be painted after the swap, so hopefully I'll get away with it, if not I'll wag the rims over like you suggest. 8)

Yes!

User 'Gunni' has done the swap using this setup, only thing is you need to use an uprated clutch, from the U.S which aint cheap, but a standard M30 clutch is over 150 quid anyway....

Has anyone done the m10 box & flywheel fitment?

If so which model did it come off of?

I will be mating up to a m3 lsd - will it fit using std prop?

All help needed as these items are next on list to get

The m10 box is available upto 87/88 in 316/318 but you need to check, as some have the m40 in on these yr's, as I've found out! You also need the flywheel.

Just been and picked up an m10 box from alexE30, and once home I offered it up to the M30 and it looks bang on, and measures up exact on the bolts holes, there maybe a few you dont use but thats it.

Just need my clutch to get here now......

You need to find out the ratios of the box before deciding on the diff ?

ITS IN!!!

Really pleased with what we got done today, clutch arrived from SPEC in the U.S at 2pm, bolted m10 flywheel on, with new clutch, offered M10 box up and it all fits bang on! :D

Got poly mounts on subframe, brackets on block, removed fan and A/C pump, ground exhaust mani a bit, bashed bulkhead with large hammer, dropped lump in, juggled it around abit to get it on bushes, job done!

M20 linkage and prop bolted straight up, no modding. 8)

Just wiring and water pipes to do.

Gotta say a big thanks to my m8, for all his graft today/this wk, he's put an m30 in his own E30, one in mine, and put the engine back in my Civic race car! Top fella...

Pic to follow.

All at once m8, all 4 wheels on the floor, got it half way in with hoist, so rocker was touching bulkhead, then jacked box up underneath and swung it in, took about 10 mins, left brackets and poly mounts loose, then nipped em up when it was sat right.

Cant see any probs with the box, as Gunni says on his posts, there are turbo m10's running mega power through stock boxes, guibo may be an issue, but time will tell.

I do ALOT of drag racing, and as my Civic isnt finished yet, I'll be using the 335 for a few events, so that should test it to the max!

Guys, I've got an E28 535 rad (I think) core measures 58x47cm plus the plastic end tanks.

Now I thought i had been given the wrong one, as it sticks out the engine bay about 3 inch on the standard mounts, do I need to grind these off for it to fit?
