ok i've been reading as much as i can about these conversions. i plan to buy another e30 320i (a broke ma last 1, lol) and get a 535i conversion, i know a guy who is a god with cars and would defo be the cheapest for me. can any1 give me a brief run down on wot i need to do basicaly! do i need any custom part like driveshafts mounts etc.. please help guys!!! also after that i seen a really cool turbo conversion on an e30 335i which i think he used the 535i engine in a car magazine which i'm guessing is the guy above, wot do i need for the turbo conversion and wot power and performance am i looking at? any information would be gr8.

there are loads of 3.5 conversion posts and lots of people have done them on here, have a search for m30 and have a read through, there are lots of options.

you can buy custom mounts for the engine.

have a read through the turbo swap thread i posted on here, more info than would fit in PPC.

ok i cant get into that link but. can some1 tell me, i'm just looking for a rough idea as to whats involved. this conversion shouldnt be a problem for my m8 but is it just a case of buying the mounts from e30.de i think that was the site, and a e30 m3 prop will 325i diff and shafts do the job? is there any other major parts needed??? any help would be gr8 guys

does this one work?

http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... ic&t=21753&

diff and half shafts fine, e30m3 prop ideal if you can find one and have £100 to spend on it, e30 gearbox mount is ok if using e34 (87-92ish) 535i manual box. e28 m535i rad.

they came with the cheapy nasty XS power gate :D

as i remember it was a 50mm gate with all flanges/gaskets/fixings, an external dump pipe and 6 or so springs for $110 8O . seems to do the job ok (so far!)

i lan to put the m30 lump in my e30 when i get an MOT on the old girl :cursin:

me and andy gall are going to take it on as he has done it already and reckons we can get it done in a weekend!?! then send the prop off to get strengthened, balanced and welded.

if you get a donor car its best cause you need:

-the front half of prop (to join to rear end of e30 prop)
-ecu
-rad (if the engine gets put further back you can squeeze the e36 rad in...just)
-some or all of the exhaust depending on personal preference. its a bigger bore than the 325 (2.5 and 2inch i think).

and sure there will be other things but if you read through other links they will tell you all you need.

good luck.
