i thought it was about time i treated the car to a little something.
as above, im lookin to spend about £500.
options:
1. carbon fibre boot lid
2. sort out the tiny little scratches and chips on the bodywork
3. spend some more and get megasquirt
4. MAF conv
5. spend some more and get beige leathers
6. take it somewhere top notch to get a proper good service
any other suggestions welcome......
pics of the car are in the pics section under "327i sport with new shoes" i think.
thought id ask for some advice before i jumped into anything.
thanks
dave

Go to Prague and spend it all on strippers and booze.

You wont regret it.

oh i will regret that. ive done that many a time. although not in prague. plus the missus wouldnt be that happy.

last service was about 1000 miles ago but that was just oil, coolant etc. basic service.
i know servicing it is the most sensible option. but im not that sensible.
the boot lid has got a bit rusty so im tempted to sort that out.
does anyone now how much ms will set me back? fully installed

Beige interior will look crap unless you change the carpet and mats and get some really clean beige doorcards.

For £500 I wouldn't think twice what I would do - go to Nurburgring for a long weekend!

if is spend £500 on going to the ring for a weekend i guarentee you ill have to spend at least the same again on the car to fix everything i would have broken while thrashing it for a weekend.- nice idea though.

i like theo's idea!

yeah it will cost you to do a good service after replacing brakes oil etc but it would be the trip of a life time!

but if thats not the choice and you got the 6 branch (lucky man) for the mega squit!
then do a diff and gear box oil change.

i was thinking of things more like replacing body panels and new shocks etc. im a bit silly in my car sometimes and im sooo scared to take it to a track cos i know ill get carried away and take it too far.
i managed to break my xmember a month ago apparently (my mech said) from aggressive standing starts so fek knows what ill break if i take it to a track

ms it is then....
anyone think the boot is agood idea?

I second (or third, or whatever) the idea of a megasquirt... A better mod than any of those others listed as it will improve every aspect of the engine, economy, torque, power delivery and might add a few horses too.

PM Ant and see how much it'll all cost... I beleive he does drive in/drive out sollutions or at least a more or less plug in kit and a base map that'll get you 99% there.

I would get the carbon bonnet
Then MS (forget MAF its not that much better than a AFM but costs more than MS) in a Alpha-n config 8)
Forget beige leathers they dont look all that in a E30.

Buy 6 leaf blowers to force air into each one of your cylinders. Works.

I have seen it done on a little 1.4 with 1 leaf blower. Try it. No reason why it won't work. A lot can be fitted under that engine bay.

i think Ant charges around £700 for MS conversion. I put a Miller MAF on my 325i recently for around £200 - very pleased with it.

Yes. Excellent throttle response, good economy (easy to get 30mpg on a 325i 8O ), 7,000rpm rev limit, looks rather neat too.
