tech 2 every time I'm afraid!
Tech 1 every time. Higher compression engine with better fuelling means much nicer throttle response. 3.64 diff means you can really use that taller first gear - they feel more leggy than the later car but still feel quicker. Proper Bilstein yellow shocks for a stiffer ride. They look better IMHO, esp. in Dolphin grey. The Tech 2 body kit looks too heavy and slabby and that big boot spoiler is 'orrible. They all rot like a bean can in a salt mine but the Tech 1 is much more 'classic' - I wouldn't want an E30 to 'look more modern'.
tech2 all day long. a decent bodykit is what bmw forgot about when they made the tech1..
tech1's always to me, look like they were missing something and the tech2 put that right. an ample bodykit and by no means over the top, sexy lines and makes a bmw e30 imho. I personally wouldnt have an e30 without the tech2 kit. the shagger im converting now, already has a tech 2 kit lined up and waiting to be sprayed

I have had both still like the Tech 1, as oguz said, its a real raw and rougher ride, better true feeling. The Tech 2 has a bit more technology to it but go old school...
Just watch out for the rot...

I think I must be alone then... I hate the bodykits, especially the Tech 2 affair. I've only just bought a E30 after admiring from afar for a long time. I think if I bought one with either kit I'd take it off.
I've come out of the VW scene and I'm more into the cleaned look.
But hey, they're all cool

pictonroad you are sick in the head!

"Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."
well ive had 3 tech 1s and 2 tech 2s and i can honestly say after covering serious milage and putting each one through its paces the tech 1 is the best car its like comparing a 3 door cosworth to a saphire . the 3 door was always the boy , in my eyes theyre very mk2 escorty fun superb cars. much rawer and quicker without a doubt.
if the tech 1 cost more id still have had em.

Hartge h35 e30... ( for sale in near future )

I do like the tech 2 that lil bit more and it has its advatages like no rust! but it wont fit my car without any modifications
and as you said the tech 1 right for my car, thats why im considering it! but could go for the hassle of fitting the tech 2 just for that lil bit extra for the looks! then again i have no money for getting that fitted,
So..... TECH 1 it is
old skool RIGHTNESS!!!

Yeah will do, just trying to get hold of a tech one kit!
Umm and the tech 2 kit should i sell it or keep it for future use? as i may want to get a facelift 325i in a few years. Tech 2 kits are not that hard to get hold of i guess, so i might just sell and put the money to use on my current e30.. what do you lot think?
