Mate of a mate stuffed his E36 M3 the other day,hit the back of a Mondeo which consequently hit the back of an MGF.

Anyway ive had a word and expressed an interest in buying it once its finished with(assuming its available).

Will this be an S50?
3.0 or 3.2?

it looks like quite a hit! It will be a 3litre single vanos s50 then, deemed more reliable than the b32'.

Looks like it has the later front wings (sept 96 on) so it could be a 3.2

The later cars have a smaller side repeater.

I had a Feb 1996 3.2 EVO 8O It looked very much like that one too!!!

Ouch! you should be able to work evo/non evo out by the age of the car.

One man's misfortune is another man's gain!

If i got it it wouldnt be going in this one!

Only a thought right now, insurance hasnt even looked at it yet as it only happened on Sunday.
He sent me the pics this morning and said that he is just going to go and buy another M3
He said as far as he is concerned the insurance can take it but did say that if they offer for him to keep the car hell let me know winkeye

If i do get it,this time i will be creating a real sleeper-standard 2 door with no dechrome/spoilers etc maybe on Bottletops would be nice?
Badged as a 316i probably too :D

Just get him to ask the insurance man how much to keep the salvage, I bet it won't be that much. Then you give him that amount and a few crates of stella, job done :D

That is more than likely a 3.0 M3 because:

1. Looks like avus blue, this wasn't an option on the 3.2's (estoril blue was) unless on an individual car
2. Kidney grills look like their from a pre-facelift
3. Anything an N reg and old is a 3.0 generally speaking
4. See if both of the wheels at front and back are the same at 8J.

Similar thing happened to my M3. The money he gets for it won't buy him an E30 M3, let alone some of the overpriced 325 sports on here. Thats why I went E36 and the LHD thing. But now I am back home.

Dakar yellow is a lovely colour on a 3.0, however I can live with a black E30 with a 321bhp evolution lump in it :D Last week I was "lucky" not just because I got a day off due to the snow, but an opportunity for parts from my friends 3.2 came up ;) With the group buy manifolds here I am going to have a hell of an E30 for <£5000, do you know any mint 2 door tech2 shells going around?

I'd say thats an EVO, I didn't think the early ones had that splitter on the front bumper? The kidney grille panel looks like the later one to me? I'm more than likely wrong again

(Tony, See if he wants to see the little black splitter on the bottom of the front bumper, Cash waiting  )

Just looked up realoem and the last of the 4 doors seem to be 12/97. The part number for the vanos unit is the same as a 12/97 coupe which would be the dual vanos Evo.

It is an early evo: (read 96 or 97) lates were 98 or 99. OR a non-evo. Defo not a late evo.
