I want to do something to my 323 engine so I am thinking of fitting a turbo.
I want to build a manifold like this one.

But what turbo should I use? How much boost can used with the standard pistons / air flow meter and ecu ? I know nothing about turbo's but I want to learn.

B23 lump is LE Jet, no way to remap the ignition Ed.

that is a LHD spec manifold, you could make one similar with a set of flanges and some welding.

As for turbo choice ..... what are you looking to gain from it, more torque, massive HP gain , daily driver or weekend/track toy ??

Stock boost limit for a cat ready B25 is 12 psi , 10 is max safe limit in my experience, unless you can comensate for a charge temp hike come summertime, assuming we get one

Turbo recommendations from experience.....

Daily T3/4 hybrid ( built for the app, no cossie donor Ebay shite from china!! )
Daily with HP bias, H1C, H1E or HX35/ 40 series.
Max HP monster, CR drop and HX40 in 82mm trim comp and 77 on the Turbine.

LHD spec manifold though dude, well it was prior to the angle grinder

SAAB turbos will be too small, any 4 cyl turbo will be too small and restrictive TBH, the 6 cyl has 2 more pulses per revoloution so a 2 litre 4 pot turbo will be worked 50% harder than in the stock app

I used a cossie 2WD unit, massive torque , superb daily driver but it had too much torque, and not enough HP to be really really rapid. a high A/R hotside would work well enough, but even the T3 biggest (0.63) is still a little under "perfect" I ported the last one ( D1mmy's car) out to almost 0.80 to get the boost where I wanted it

think BIG dude, its the best way :D

No mate, thats waaaaaaay to big for what you're wanting, A/R hotside is too big for defo, the cfm is low too given the claimed spec I'd expect to see 12-1400 cfm

XS Power= Chinese built shite dude, a proper Garret would be £1200 ish for that application, its cheap for a damn good reason, the material spec is not up to the task @ hand.

IMHO of course 8)

More like it, seller need to supply way more info, the A/R is the ratio of inducer to exducer, but without supplying info on the wheel sizes themselves, that info is irelevant.

Big hotside from the look of it, needs ext w/gate too, more space to be taken up, but it can be done.

Interested ? Ask the seller to remove the housings and measure the wheels themselves, Comp wants to be 70mm minimum and similar on hotside (turbine)

I reckon the hot is a 1.08 ish, that info is part of the casting so thats easy for the seller to find.

Isn't that Mop's manifold?

I'm about 99% sure those are my head flanges there anyway and that the mani has been fabbed.

could be M8, look inspired by the stock LHD items with an adapter though for defo, nothing wrong with that either :thumb:

Clyde, what you got in mind ?, best to PM as I cant "trade" on the zone.
