I have a set of suspension srings that don't have the part number
stamped on the top but are definatly BM originals the number is
probably on the front ones but i cant be bothered to strip the strutts
to find it. The only markings visible is two stripes of pink paint.
Can any one help me make sense of the marking system ?
Cheers.

Cheers Bill i'm not invisible then
The only springs that might have a part number are on the front (on the car) too much work just to satisfy my curiosity but i know for sure all the running gear came off a 325 sports.
The springs that i removed on the rear were the same size but had one green stripe of paint and were definatly softer but i no longer have these for a part number and was just hoping someone was familier with the markings.
the pink ones are sports.
The green ones were off a 316
And a white set i had were off a 320.
Does anyone know what colour their's are?.

Look at the very end of the coil on each rear spring, if theres is no part number stamped into the metal, i dont think they are origional. Look where the rubber pad meets the spring it self.Martinaston wrote:I have a set of suspension srings that don't have the part number

Now i'm gonna be a pain in the ass and ask if you know the corresponding part numbers for those springs?

Ive yet to see an original spring with no part numbers, they all have pig tails, but original springs are not progressively wound. I bet they are like Boge ones from ECP/GSF.Martinaston wrote:Cheers fellas

I think were getting confused when i said progressively wound i was refering to the diameter of the bar used to make the spring, it thin's out at the ends of the coil. (pigtail)
I think what you mean by progressively wound is the number of turns per inch. Is that right?
Either way have you got any part numbers for them or can you remember what colour spring goes with what car?
