at last - it's in tbmw
Moderator: martauto
picked up the latest total bmw today and i'm in it! sound. it's the red one starting on page 72 in case anyone's interested - maybe if you read this you'll remember to look it up next time you're in the newsagents.
many thanks have to go to iain (hartgeh27) for putting me and the magazine guys in contact. cheers iain!
although i'm chuffed at my first feature i'm a touch disappointed with the details; it's a jetex cone filter custom mounted, custom stainless exhuast, lowered and uprated suspension, 205/45 rear tyres. no mention of the gas strut bootlid hinges, dynamatting or the fact that the entire stereo system is hidden from view when the car is parked up. and the stereo volume was/is not the aim - sound quality was the first and primary consideration. also no mention of the all the work i've put in and how it nearly cost me my missus!
the zone gets a mention however.
i never thought that i'd make a magazine article. especially with a 1600 engine!!!!

Good work mate bet you're well chuffed!
Shame how they can't explain the original dariative(sp?) of the sound system is the quality though as that's a huge factor of the car. But I'm sure many of the readers will acknowledge this, PBMW however would think differently..
Top job again Paul.

Nissan 200SX S14a - Track Slag
BMW 328i Cab - Daily Slag
thanks everyone. chuffed doesn't really cover it to be honest.
having re-read the article since i've got home i've mellowed towards it.
as for the engine - there are a couple who know what's going in there now..... it's to be m20 based with a little more capacity than usual. i'm after torque... thing is though (you know what i'm like) the engine/box/diff/trailing arms/fuel tank/suspension will all have to be either new or re-built to be as good as new before being fitted. i'm saving up my money....

Well done mate !
BTW YGM !
BTW YGM !
Nice one dude. It's been a long time coming now and another notch on the belt for the Zone
I know what you mean about mags not mentioning all the hard work that's gone into your car. Remember i had the same gripe with PBMW over my feature. 7 pages and hardly anything worth shouting about, but at least you got the car into a mag and that's something to be proud of dude. Plenty of people will spend twice as much and work twice as much as you and still not get their car in a mag, but at least you've done it. Nice one again
