Is the Injection system linked to the Ignition system in anyway, as I am looking into fitting bike carbs now as a supercharger looks to open up a can of worms :(

Or is it just a case of tying up the loom & slap the carbs on?

Cheers

speak to these dudes

or get a back issue of ppc magazine as there was a "how to" guide in one of the back issues

I'd forget the carbs idea and jump directly to bike throttle bodies and a megasquirt ECU.. 40mm throttles aren't unheard of, I think suzuki GSX-r can be got up to that size but dont wuote me.

Much better and ultimately easier to tune, no jets or venturis to muck about with.

You could swop to carbs, but removal of the AFM would mean the ECU has no load input and as a result ignition timing would be heavily compromised, as would reliability

MS and Bike Tbs for defo, Boggbrothers for the intake manifold and away you go :thumb:

adam, nicely done for the bogg brothers link!, i think i'll be using them...

forty, 40mm maybe slightly too large for the M42. i've got 38mm TB's, which im told are the perfect size for a 1.8, but you may find that you'll be fine

in regards to the injection/ignition, go MS. thats what i'll be using

and listen closely and carefully to what ant says... he is an uber-guru in his field...

Do some research into the throttle body options, many of the later models have annoying auxillary butterflies or slides to smooth throttle response and improve reliability. 02/03 R1 do for sure and I'm pretty sure late model GSXR bodies have a servo driven butterfly behind the main one.

Also check they can be split to match the manifold spacing, I'm sure Boggs bros will reccomend some to suit if you ask.

Why not let me quote for a manifold. I can make you one in either stainless or aluminium. I would be happy to re space your TBs or bike carbs as well.

Drop me a line at info@suffolkflockingservices.co.uk if you are interested or give Ant a bell @ A-tech if he is supplying your MS as you can purchase the manifold through him if you wish.
