help with abs light

Hi all. My neighbours e30 cab's battery died at the golf club. A new one was duly fitted and now the ABS warning light stays on. Does anyone know how to sort the problem out short of pulling the bulb. :-x

There is a relay under the abs unit cover. It is the silver one that may cause a problem.

there is also a relay under the dash steering wheel side, it is twice the length of a standard relay.

other than that it could be a sensor or the ecu

It's either a coincidence, or he has the early ABS system with a voltage protection relay (?) mounted near the ABS ECU. This relay is easily damaged by attempts at jump starting or similar.
