As it's non-E30 I've put it here rather than the ebay section. Apologies if it's a re-post.

Wet my pants when I saw this:

Too cheap I thought. Sure enough, it's on Autotrader for just shy of £10k!
This is definately a scam, the guy also has a Big Healey on for £7k (on Autotrader for £28.5k)!

You can always tell the scams because it says contact seller via email.

not related to the car in question but I'm sure I've seen another scam on ebay a few weeks back, it was a Yellow E36 that was featured in PBMW and the asking price was roughly £3500. These scams seem to be going around at the moment.

Simple you bid and buy a car (The price is always too good to be true.....), then you pay for the car.

The car doesn't exist, the 'seller' does a disappering act with your money.

The end.

Beware.

The sellers often use "hijacked" Ebay accounts, from people who have rersponded to those "please veryfy you Ebay details" scam emails. They then use photos and wording from an expired auction.

The feedback then looks good and positive. The clue to the scam is the message "do not use Ebay as a question link, email me on another email address" Often they are only 1 or 3 day auctions too.

Way round it is up to Ebay. They could easily send a verification code, say for aticles over £100, to the registered Ebay emal address of the account holder, for you to re-enter and kick the auction off.
